Our Second Annual “Hope Restored” (Overcoming sexual addiction) seminar will be October 16-17, 2009. This seminar is being hosted by “Recovery Alaska,” a ministry of Anchorage Baptist Temple and “Prodigals of Alaska.” The seminar is designed to help equip those who will be ministering to those with sexual addictions, as well as those struggling with sexual addiction and their spouses.
This year’s seminar will consist of three separate tracts: Pastors’ tract, Men’s tract, and Women’s tract. During the Friday night opening session, we will feature a presentation “Protecting Your Family Against the Dangers of the Internet.” This session will be conducted by a representative of the Alaska State Troopers Cyber Crimes Division.
Some of the scheduled topics for the “Break-Out” sessions are: Pastors’ Tract – They have asked for help, now what do I do?; The recovery process and what it looks like; Q&A time for pastors. Men’s Tract - What Should I Expect In Recovery?; Accountability – What Does It Look Like and How Does It Work; Iceberg of Sexual Addiction. Women’s Tract - What Is Sexual Addiction and the Addiction Process?; Considering Establishing and Enforcing Boundaries; Your expectations – Realistic or Unrealistic.
The seminar will begin Friday, October 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
